FAQ

Pricing, plainly.

Why is self-hosting free?

Lobby is open source under the MIT license. Every feature ships in the binary, with no paid tier and no limits. Cloud exists for people who'd rather not run a server, not to hold features back.

What happens at 500 signups on Free?

Everyone already on your list keeps their place, and the form politely turns new visitors away until you upgrade. We email you when it happens. Launch has no signup limit.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any time from Manage billing. You keep your plan until the end of the period you paid for, then move to Free. Your list stays put.

What counts as an email?

Any email Lobby sends for you: confirmations, status updates, invites and broadcasts. The notifications Lobby sends to you about new signups don't count.

Why are prices this low?

Lobby is a single Go binary with one SQLite file per instance and uses about 20 MB of memory. It costs very little to run, so it costs very little to buy.

Can I leave?

Yes. Export your list as CSV or NDJSON any time, on any plan, and run the same open-source Lobby on your own server.
